STREET CHILDREN PROJECT
No child should be bereft of education. Every child should go to school and get the opportunity to complete his/her education.
TARGET GROUP: Children of school-going age, who do not go to school, i.e. children who are out of the mainstream education system. These children belong to underprivileged sections of society, who have either never been to school or have dropped out of school at some stage.
HOW WE WORK: We bring these children to our classes, where they start learning. Soon we integrate them into the mainstream education system by getting them tuition support. We help them stay ahead in class thus ensuring they do not drop out again.
LAUNCHED in June 2007
BENEFICIARIES: 2470 children
ENGLISH LANGUAGE COACHING
Reading and writing skills of English language are important assessment criteria for higher studies as well as professional hiring. English is a weak area for most students from underprivileged background and they suffer from lack of access to focused language classes. We provide special English language classes for students in Basti clusters, specially focusing on basic grammar and vocabulary. These classes are held regularly for our in-house students throughout the year, and especially for other students during summer and winter holidays.
